Dentist Services for You

Dentist offers all aspects of oral health care. Your dentist can diagnose and treat cavities, clean your teeth and oral cavities, fillings, extractions, root canals, orthodontics, jaw and mouth disorders, bridges and crowns, and perform routine preventive care for tooth decay, gum disease, and bad breath. Dental services also include preventative dental care like regular cleaning, x-rays, fluoride treatments, and fillings. Some dentists work in private offices or may provide complete surgical and dental procedures.

Dental Services range from basic procedures to advanced procedures, depending on the needs of your oral health. Basic dental services include teeth cleaning, polishing, and bleaching, scaling and root planning, teeth whitening, and routine extractions and fillings. If you have a cavity or if you have a decaying tooth, you will need the services of a cosmetic dentist. These dentists perform specialized procedures like removal of a tooth, repairing a tooth, or gum surgery. If you have severe damage to your teeth caused by trauma or disease, you may need an oral surgeon to perform invasive oral surgery.

Orthodontics is a branch that deals with the orthodontic problems of the mouth and jawbones. It includes braces, appliances, retainers, and other accessories for straightening, positioning, and maintenance of healthy teeth and mouth. An orthodontist is a qualified professional to whom you can entrust the treatment of your facial bones and the development of your jawline. There are different types of orthodontics, and they all depend on the function of your mouth. Braces are used for teeth alignment and to straighten them; retainers are used to hold the upper portion of your teeth; and appliances are used to correct the alignment of your teeth and jaws. General dentistry, on the other hand, deals with the general health of the body as a whole.

General Dentistry

In general dentistry, you have two choices: primary care and specialty care. Primary care is the care of your general health. This is usually provided by your general dentist, who has received specialized training in the field of general dentistry. On the other hand, specialized dentists specialize in a specific field, such as orthodontics, pediatrics, endodontics, and cosmetic dentistry. They also receive specialized training and have undergone a special examination, before they are allowed to treat patients.

The most common services performed by dentists include extraction of teeth, filling of the cavity, root canal, tooth filling, gum surgery, dental implants, and crowns. There are different types of techniques applied in these procedures, depending on the nature of the illness or injury that requires treatment. For example, in the case of dental implants, the tissues of the jawbone, nerves, and bone are replaced by metallic or plastic materials. On the other hand, if your fractured a tooth, the general dentist will probably operate on your mouth with a drill and apply a local anesthetic.

A periodontist, on the other hand, is a professional who treats diseases of the gums and periodontal pockets. These pockets are pockets with disease-causing germs under the gums that prevent the tissues from healing. If they are not treated, they can cause inflammation and infection and can cause tooth loss over time. Periodontists can perform a variety of procedures, such as route planning, bone shaping, using a laser to straighten teeth, and removing the gum tissue and enamel, among others.

An endodontist can perform a number of procedures, including root canal therapy, which he uses to clean teeth of decay and other harmful bacteria. If you have cracked or chipped teeth, the dentist can use a cutting instrument to remove the damaged tissues. If you have dental implants, the dentist can implant bridges or crowns, in order to fix your missing teeth.

General dentists and pedodontists offer different services, depending on their location, but all of them provide a similar set of services. Most will perform basic oral health screening and checkups. They can give you a full examination through a digital x-ray machine. Some will perform routine oral surgeries and extractions, depending on how far gone your problems are. Once they have diagnosed what the problem is, they can either refer you to a specialist or treat it themselves at home.
